Survivor Man

The other day, I was flipping channels and ended up watching an old episode of The Office (US version).

There are two parallel plots in this episode. One of them goes kind of like this:

Regional branch managers spent a weekend on a corporate wilderness retreat. Michael Scott was not invited. To prove to himself and his peers that he can survive in the wild, Michael decides to become "survivor man" and instructs Dwight to abandon him deep in the "Pennsylvania wilderness" with a knife and a roll of duct tape. He also has a camcorder to videoblog about what he expects to be a life-changing experience. Michael proves to be completely incapable of making it in the wild by himself even for a few hours. Dwight saves Michael when he tries to eat wild mushrooms.

This is a "creatively re-mixed" (not by me) clip, but it does convey the plot pretty accurately:

At the end of the episode Michael says that he no longer has any desire to return to the wilderness and returns to run the office.

Well, as Russians say, "in every joke, there is a grain of... joke".
